The Marble Table is a new restaurant in downtown Billings offering what owners Jason and Jen Marble call elegant comfort food.

“Every cuisine, every culture, every person has an idea of comfort food, so that really left us an open palate to play with,” said co-owner Jason Marble Wednesday morning.

Jason said that he has been passionate about cooking since he was a toddler.

“I’d wake up early and watch cooking shows instead of cartoons when I was a little kid,” said Jason.

His wife said they want people who come to the restaurant to feel that sense of comfort, warmth, and have a lasting memory of their experience, like what one would feel after a home-cooked meal.

“The way that he cooks food is I think, different. I really think that he has a special ingredient. It’s the love and passion for what he does,” said Jen.

While opening the restaurant during the pandemic was not easy, both owners say they are happy to have been able to live out their dream and share what they love with the community.

“It's amazing. People are getting really excited for us right now, and they are excited to have this food, and they are excited to see what we are bringing to the table,” said Jen.

The owners said the name of the restaurant was influenced by their family dinners and the days before COVID-19, when they would invite friends over for meals.

They said they want people to feel as welcomed as they would if they were to come over to their house for a meal.

In order to keep people safe when they come to the restaurant, the owners have put up dividers between each table. They will also be offering takeout service.

“We are all trying to make people feel that in our small space, we are trying to keep people safe too,” said Jen.

The Marble Table will have its grand opening on Friday, serving lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to close. Click here to visit the Facebook page.
