THREE FORKS — It’s a very exciting day for history lovers in and near Three Forks.

Today, a historic steam engine built all the way back in 1910 was transported from Nevada City to the Train Depot Museum in Three Forks, a project that’s eight years in the making.

The steam engine had connections to the area after it was used in the construction of the Panama Canal, and now it’s back home at the museum.

Organizers with the museum say they’re glad to have a piece of history that can visually teach residents and visitors today about how life was more than 110 years ago.
