Yellowstone National Park released its August visitation statistics this week, and this year the park saw an increase of about three-quarters of a percent from August of 2018.
According to a National Park Service press release, YNP hosted 820,006 visits last month.
That brings the year-to-date total for the park up to 3,114,696 — a decrease of .69 percent from the same time period last year.
Park officials urge travelers to plan ahead given the high level of visitation and to check current conditions before arriving.
