BELGRADE, Mont. – Senator Daines visited a handful of communities around the state Monday to sit down with community members and local leaders. He announced his support for full funding and permanent reauthorization of the Land Water Conservation Fund.
During a live interview with KBZK at MSU Ag Research property Sen. Daines (R – Montana) discussed the current status of the Farm Bill, which he hopes to see signed by the president in the middle of September.
“Farmers and ranchers will have the certainty knowing crop insurance is protected, ag research is protected because of course agriculture is Montana’s number one economic driver a real important bill here for the state of Montana,” said Daines.
Recently Sen. Daines was named a top bipartisan lawmaker by The Lugar Center and the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy. He says bipartisan work is what’s going to help get the bill through conference committee.
