Montana Ag Network: May is National Beef Month

Posted

May is National Beef Month; a time to recognize ranchers and the tasty beef products they’re directly responsible for.

Montana ranchers raise some of the highest quality beef in the world. And with warmer temperatures finally here, the Montana Beef Council’s executive director Chaley Harney says grilling is the perfect way to celebrate May as National Beef Month.

“May is Beef Month and what better way to spring into action than with a little grilling,” said Harney. “Here at the Montana Beef Council, we are your local and free resource for all things beef. Whether it’s nutrition, cut information or recipes, we have you covered on everything you want to know.”

She says there’s even some new and exciting technology available this year to help grillers with their beef grilling masterpieces.

“The hottest gadget this season is Chuck,” said Harney. “Chuck Knows Beef is your online guide to all things beef. He has the knowledge of a rancher and a chef all rolled into one. And the humor of a Dad so he’s very fun and intelligent to be able to help you with all of your grilling tips this season. He’s available on Google Assistant and Alexa so check him out to get all your grilling tips.”

She explains why fun promotions like these benefit ranchers who invest in the beef checkoff program in Montana.

“There are a lot of proteins out there that we’re competing with and beef is king in Montana and king of the grill,” said Harney. “But we have to work to make it that way. So, it’s important to use these checkoff dollars in very strategic ways to make sure we get the most impact for our producers on behalf of their checkoff dollars.”
