BILLINGS – The Montana Women’s Run announced Wednesday donations to community organizations that support the health and wellness of women in the Billings community.

The money raised this year was donated to the YWCA, Billings Clinic Foundation, Rocky Mountain College, MSU-Billings and the Billings YMCA.

The YCWA received $39,000 from the Women’s Run- money they said helps them to continue to provide services to women in need, while expanding their housing opportunities.

In addition, $30,000 was donated to the Billings Clinic’s Women’s Wellness program, which provides health screenings for women who are under-insured, or who do not have insurance.

The Women’s Run donated $20,000 to the YMCA to help fund their health and wellness programs for families in the Billings community.

Both Rocky Mountain College and MSU-Billings received $5,500 towards scholarships for women’s cross country runners who would otherwise not be able to afford college.

To date, the Montana Women’s Run has donated $1,257,500 to local organizations.

Last year, over 8,500 women participated in the Women’s Run, the organization hopes to break the 10,000 participant mark.

Next year’s race is scheduled for May 11, 2019.
