BOZEMAN — The MSU Bobcat Volleyball team is on the road this week as it heads to the University of Arkansas.
Head Coach Daniel Jones visited with Montana This Morning’s Chet Layman before heading to the airport for the flight to Arkansas.
The Cats open the tourney Friday morning with a match against UA Little Rock, a first-time match up for MSU. Friday afternoon the Cats face Northwestern State another first time matchup. On Saturday the Cats close against the University of Arkansas, a team they beat back in 2003.
Coach Jones says the team is right about where they should be for this early in the season, but he’s excited to finally have an older team. MSU comes in to this season with three seniors and six juniors from last year's squad, that made it to the league tourney for the first time since 2012.
Bobcat Volleyball stays on the road for the next few games. They start their home schedule on September 17th. Coach Jones noted that the Bobcats are in the top 50 for attendance in the entire country, and tops in the Big Sky Conference.
