KALISPELL- The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the man who died in Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park on Tuesday.

The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Wei Lui of Tempe, Ariz.

According to Flathead County, Lui died from hypothermia after falling into the lake. He was unable to return to the dock due to the cold weather. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Lui was first reported missing Tuesday morning by concerned family members. Park rangers launched a search and located a vehicle at Lake McDonald Lodge matching the description provided by the man’s family.

Glacier National Park ground crews searched the nearby area, and the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team responded to conduct an underwater search.

Park officials stated a dive team deployed a remote operated vehicle (ROV) and found and recovered Lui in Lake McDonald Tuesday afternoon.

Glacier National Park is still investigating the incident.
