Spring plowing is underway for Glacier National Park’s renowned Going-to-the-Sun Road.

Park officials announced Wednesday that plowing on the scenic mountain road, past Lake McDonald Lodge, has begun.

There is no ski, snowshoe, hiking, or bicycle access beyond the lodge while crews are working.

Hiker/biker access is open to Rising Sun on the east side of the road, according to Glacier National Park.

In Many Glacier, hikers and bikers can travel as far as the junction to the Ranger Station and Campground. There are currently no hiker/biker restrictions on Camas Road. In Two Medicine, the plowed section of the road is open to hiker/biker access.
