Beartooth Pass is closed at the state line

Posted

RED LODGE – According to the Billings Division of Montana Department of Transportation, U.S. Highway 212 is closed 13 miles south of Red Lodge at the state line due to weather.

Snow, ice and heavy drifting on the Wyoming side have caused slick, dangerous road conditions.

The National Park Service is working on the Wyoming side Saturday to see if they can clear it to reopen Sunday.

Road conditions to Vista Point are wet, and travelers going up the Montana side will need to turn around at the state line. Watch for rockslides and rapidly changing road conditions.
