Yellowstone National Park reports a woman who approached a bison too closely was knocked to the ground and injured by the animal in the Old Faithful Upper Geyser Basin.
According to a park press release, the woman came closer than within 25 yards of the bison on Wednesday afternoon. She was assessed immediately and refused transport to a medical facility.
The release said the incident is under investigation and there is no further information available at this time.
This is the first incident of a bison injuring a YNP visitor in 2020.
