HELENA – In a press release Friday, the governor’s office stated that Gov. Bullock signed a comprehensive suite of infrastructure bills to support the economic vitality of communities across the state and create good-paying jobs.
“These long-term investments in every corner of Montana will have a lasting impact that allows urban and rural communities to sustain strong economic growth,” Bullock said. “Montanans can be pleased knowing our political system still works and long overdue community development projects are a result of lawmakers coming together over shared values and priorities.”
The suite of bills allows for the investment in nearly $400 million in projects that will provide clean drinking water, safe wastewater, storm systems, bridges and buildings.
The infrastructure upgrades will include a new Montana Heritage Center, the renovation of Romney Hall at Montana State University, a new Dental Clinic, Assisting and Hygiene Lab at Great Falls College, 14 replaced or repaired bridges, and 51 water, wastewater and storm system projects.
The bills that were signed: HB 5, HB 6, HB 7, HB 8, HB 10, HB 11, HB 553, SB 553 and HB 652.
Lieutenant Governor Mike Cooney will be visiting the infrastructure sites in Polson and Red Lodge early next week.
