DILLON — Baleigh Doyle has done something very few of us ever get to do, work at NASA. She turned a degree from Montana Western in Dillon in to an internship with NASA thanks to hard work and a some funds from the Montana Space Grant Consortium.
She talked with Montana This Morning’s Chet Layman about that as part of a regular visit to the Dillon school. Doyle says working in small, intimate class settings like at the Dillon campus was great preparation for her time with NASA. Doyle, who is now working on a PhD and the University of Montana in Missoula says she misses the Montana Western block style of studies. The Dillon campus operates under a plan it calls Experience One where students takes one class at a time, for several hours each day for a few days. They then repeat that in the next block. Baleigh says focusing on just one class at a time was nice.
