BUTTE — They study the smallest things on earth from inside the cleanest room on the campus. As part of our regular check in with Montana Tech, Montana This Morning’s Chet Layman spent some time in the clean room of the school’s Nano-technology Lab.
Dr. Jack Skinner gave Chet a tour as the facility gets ready to come online very soon.
Skinner says the lab is a great example of Montana Tech’s cooperative efforts with other labs across the state and the nation. Students will be able to work on cutting edge research in smaller class size settings thanks to the lab. Brand new equipment is paired with donated tools from across the country to give Tech students access to the latest tools for Nano-Technology research.
The lab itself is humidity and temperature controlled for research purposes but designed is a such a way as to be used as classroom space as well. This is the only "clean" room on the Montana Tech campus.
