Harvey Schmautz, 85, of Belgrade went to meet his Lord on August 20, 2018.
Harvey was born on Aug. 6, 1933, in Ryley, AB to Julia and Andrew Schmautz. He grew up on a farm in Bruce, AB. When he was 14 years old he received a call to the ministry during a tent revival meeting. He was married to Genaah Galloway on March 1, 1958. They pastored churches in Alberta, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Oregon until he retired in 1999. He had two children, Randal and Lynnea.
He became a grandfather to six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing and camping, but his greatest passion was preaching. People loved his soft spirit and he was always ready with a smile and a prayer. He could pray heaven down. Genaah preceded him in death in 2013.
He married Rae Garden on Sept. 13, 2014, and they shared the next four years together.
Survivors include his wife, Rae; his son, Randal with his wife, Julie; and his brother, Len (Grace). Survivors also include his grandchildren, Krystal, Amanda, Taylor, Brianna, Amber, and Randy; and his great-grandchildren.
His mother, Julia; father, Andrew; and his sister, Ruth, preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Harvey’s Life will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 25, at Connect Church, 549 Pronghorn Trail.
