Obituary: Allan (Joe) Wagner

Allan (Joe) Wagner, 71, of Belgrade, MT, passed away on September 6, 2018, from injuries sustained in a logging accident.

The memorial service will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the Mount Ellis Academy auditorium. Joe will be buried at a later time near his family in Farmington, WA.

Joe was born in Spokane, WA on May 20, 1947.  He graduated from Upper Columbia Academy and continued on to receive an aircraft mechanics degree.

Joe was married to Donna on July 2, 1965; they were married 51 years.

Joe worked as an industrial arts teacher at Mount Ellis Academy from 1974 to 1994. He operated a logging business, Timberline Transport, in the Valley since 1990. He enjoyed traveling with Donna, mission trips, spending time with his children and grandchildren and hauling logs. He was also actively involved in the Belgrade Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Joe is survived by wife, Donna; sons, Scott and Matthew; daughter, Carol; grandchildren, Alexander, Madison, August and Braiden; brothers, Jon Wagner and Chris Wagner; and sister, Sue Esslestyn; and many other family and friends.

Joe is preceded in death by parents, Don and June Wagner; and brother, Dub Wagner.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joe’s name may be given to Mt. Ellis Academy worthy student fund, 3641 Bozeman Trail Rd., Bozeman, MT 59715.

The family of Joe Wagner wishes to thank the many former students, co-workers, employees, friends and family who have shared memories and prayers.
