On September 27, 2018, our beloved Jason McDowell was called home to our Lord.

Jason attended grade schools in western Montana and Sandpoint, Alaska. He attended Butte High School only to branch out on his own and then obtain his GED later in life.

Jason lived across western Montana, Alaska, Oregon, and Utah, eventually calling Belgrade, Montana home.

Jason learned how to cook while working at Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and the Uptown Café in Butte. He started as a hod carrier with Frontier Masonry in 2007. In 2011, Jason partnered with Tom Kirwan to form T&D Masonry. The “D” is for “Doogle”, Jason’s unofficial name in the construction industry. Everyone knows who Doogle is.

As a child Jason excelled in cross county, football, and baseball. Jason loved to tinker in his garage. He was self-taught with an endless drive for creating. Jason has carved stone dishes, handmade his timber bedframe, and created a hotwire machine, among countless other projects. Jason also loved exploring and pushing himself. Anything he was going to do, he did with his whole heart. He loved ice climbing, fly fishing, rock-hounding, camping, and music of all types. He also had a passion for collecting a variety of things such as coins, records, bottles, baseball cards, agates, petrified wood, and unique antiques.

Jason had fond memories during his involvement of the Bozeman Ice Festival climbing competitions. One of his favorite memories was helping the individuals from Eagle Mount climb the wall.

Jason was preceded in death by Tim “Sox” Sullivan and May June McDowell of Anaconda, MT.

Jason is survived by his wife, Michelle Louise McDowell of Belgrade; parents, Susan Michelle Sullivan of Bozeman, MT and Harold Dean McDowell of Anaconda; brother, Charles Dean McDowell of Anaconda; parents-in-law Gary and Theresa Mazade of Victor, MT; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Davis Mazade of Victor, Carl Mazade of Victor, Julie Mazade and John Seekens of Bozeman, Ben and Brenda Kuther of Grangeville, ID, and Russell and Abby Mazade of Corvallis, MT;  grandparents, Naomi Ann Sullivan and Charles Harold McDowell of Anaconda; aunts and uncles, Dan and Janeen Sullivan of Nome, AK, Tom and Kim Sullivan of Rosemount, MN, Sheryl and Kevin Braun of East Helena, MT, Patrick and Danielle Sullivan of Anaconda, Paul and Kate Farthing of Twin Falls, ID, Chuck and Debbie Poland of Anaconda, and Janet McDowell and David McDowell of FL; and many cousins.
