Bozeman restaurants adjust to Phase One requirements

BOZEMAN — Last week on Monday, Governor Bullock allowed restaurants to open their dining areas in Phase One of reopening the state.

Before, restaurants could only offer delivery, take out, or curbside pickup.

But now restaurants are able to seat customers inside. But only under certain restrictions, including limiting capacity and heavier sanitation requirements.

MTN caught up with a couple of restaurants to see how they are doing with the changes.

“We are operating at about 50 percent capacity. But we blocked off half of our tables, sanitizing in between each customer, making sure I have a dedicated staff member for that. It is a little bit slower, obviously than if we had full capacity, but it’s doing pretty good,” explained Nicole Kronfuss with Biankini's.

“Over the last 6 weeks, we’ve really built a strong takeout program, curbside program, so that continued to carry us, I think. But once we did open up there were a lot of excited people. We got tons of calls every day, tons of people walking in asking us if we were ready to seat them and they were super happy once we did,” said James Townly with Backcountry Burger Bar.

Restaurants will be able to increase capacity during Phase Two.
