BOZEMAN – A shot of wintry weather impacted Montana this past weekend and Monday we are slowly beginning to transition away from the colder than normal temperatures. The rest of this week temperatures should be warming to near or slightly above normal pace.
The exceptions will be morning lows Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Under clear skies frosty morning lows will continue for several more days.
Record Low:
One record low to report so far (could be more) Dillon airport fell 1° below record levels Monday morning. Look for an update on possible additional record lows in SW Montana tonight at 5:30 pm and 10 pm on KBZK.
City by City Forecast:
BOZEMAN: LOW: 28°; HIGH TUESDAY: 55°. Mostly clear and cold tonight with light winds but mostly sunny and warming up Tuesday afternoon.
BUTTE: LOW: 16°; HIGH TUESDAY: 55°. Hard freeze again tonight for Butte under clear skies and light winds. Tuesday begins a warming trend with abundant sunshine.
DILLON: LOW: 22°; HIGH TUESDAY: 55°. Another cold night for Dillon but hopefully we will stay above record low pace. Tuesday look for mostly sunny skies and by afternoon warming back up into the 50s.
WEST YELLOWSTONE: LOW: 14°; HIGH TUESDAY: 5°. Clear and cold for West Yellowstone tonight and a good hard freeze by morning. Temperatures will be slow to warm up but could reach the 50s by late afternoon Tuesday.
Minor Earthquake:
A weak 1.5 magnitude earthquake near Big Sky this morning. I did feel it in Bozeman. No reports of damage.
