BOZEMAN – Weak High pressure is sitting over Montana Monday afternoon producing a mostly quiet weather pattern. Rain overnight and clearing skies by early morning produce thick valley fog and by late Monday afternoon is burning off for most areas but look for patchy fog to try and develop again tonight.

NEXT WEATHER MAKER

The next storm system to impact Montana will be a slow-moving upper level Low. A cold front will pass through the state Tuesday evening followed by a deep trough into Wednesday and Thursday. Look for increasing valley rain Tuesday into Wednesday with snow likely over most mountain ranges. Colder air will begin to dig back down into Montana Wednesday and rain could change to a heavy wet snow Wednesday evening into Thursday.

Travel impacts are likely for Wednesday and Thursday commutes.

ROAD CLOSURE

I-90 from Hardin to the Wyoming state line continues to be impacted by low land flooding from melting snow. Check the latest MDT road report before traveling to get updates on area road closures.
