BOZEMAN – The atmosphere continues to be unstable with warm moist air moving up into the region from the SW and a Canadian cold front dropping in from the North. As these two weather patterns collide over the Southern half of Montana increasing wind, showers and thunderstorms are likely tonight into Wednesday.
The Storm Prediction Center expects the stronger thunderstorms to develop across the Southern half of Montana tonight into the early morning hours of Wednesday but the SE counties will have a slightly better chance for a few possible severe or damaging thunderstorms.
A cooling trend begins this evening as a cold front will pass through the state. Temperatures will fall into the 60s for most areas Wednesday and only a few degrees warmer by the 4th of July.
Forecast models are indicating a cool but mostly dry weather pattern for morning 4th of July parades across SW Montana Thursday morning with a good chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and evening.
KBZK-KXLF will be broadcasting the 4th of July parade Thursday morning starting at 10 am.

DILLON: LOW: 49°; HIGH WEDNESDAY: 72°. Turning cloudy tonight and mostly cloudy for Wednesday with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. Temperatures will be trending cooler beginning tonight.
WEST YELLOWSTONE: LOW: 40°; HIGH WEDNESDAY: 73°. Watch for scattered showers and a few thunderstorms tonight and again Wednesday.
