BOZEMAN – A cool and unsettled weather pattern is sitting over the entire state Wednesday. Scattered showers and scattered thunderstorms along with below normal temperatures both west and east of the divide. This pattern should settle down after sunset but will quickly re-develop again by late morning Thursday into Thursday evening.

Morning 4th of July activities look good Thursday but backyard BBQ’s will be cool and wet by Thursday afternoon.

BUTTE FIREWORKS FORECAST WEDNESDAY NIGHT:

Forecast models are predicting most showers and thunderstorms will drop off by early evening and with skies clearing after sunset the weather should cooperate for Butte’s big fireworks show. The only weather factor will be wind. The wind forecast around 10 pm tonight is NW winds 5 to 15 mph. If there are any thunderstorms nearby the wind gusts could be stronger.

BUTTE 4TH OF JULY PARADE FORECAST:

Forecast models are showing a brief break in the weather pattern Thursday morning. However, clouds will be quickly building along with showers and thunderstorms starting around 11 am and continuing off and on throughout the afternoon and evening tomorrow.

This type of weather will develop for other 4th of July parades around SW Montana as well, for example in Ennis.
