BOZEMAN – The current weather pattern is more typical of early to mid-June than mid-July. Day after day late afternoon to early evening thunderstorms continue to be the norm in our current weather cycle. High dewpoints with good surface heating in the morning will produce building thunderstorms over most mountain ranges and once they begin to drift ENE most storms intensify.

Over the last 3 days, there have been numerous severe thunderstorms across Montana with damaging hail, damaging wind gusts and very heavy rainfall leading to flooding issues. Unfortunately, this pattern will impact our region on Monday and Tuesday.

Storm Prediction Center has the best chance for strong to severe thunderstorms over the Southern half of Montana Monday afternoon and evening.
