Wintery start for Thursday with more snow Saturday

Today's Forecast:
Light snow and rain will exit the area through the morning but will leave temperatures in the 40s for the afternoon. Winds will stay out of the west to northwest between 10-20 mph with clearing skies tonight which will allow overnight temperatures to fall to the 20s.

BOZEMAN: High: 46; Low: 24. Light morning rain and snow showers will move out near the noon hour. Expect a northwest wind for the afternoon and evening between 10-20 mph.

BUTTE: High: 45; Low: 20. Light snow early in the day with showers moving out before the noon hour. Brisk for the evening as lows fall to near 20°.

DILLON: High: 47; Low: 25. Chilly and breezy under partly cloudy skies.

WEST YELLOWSTONE: High: 42; Low: 19. Cold for the morning with afternoon highs only reaching the lower 40s.

SNOW RETURNS FOR SATURDAY:
The latest data shows that portions of southwest Montana could see 1”-3” of snow for a few valleys with as much as 6” or more above 5000’. A cold front will rocket into the area and drive temperatures from near 60° on Friday afternoon to the low 40s on Saturday. Winter Storm Watches have been issued for Gallatin, Broadwater, and Jefferson counties starting Saturday morning. Expect scattered snow showers through the morning and early afternoon that may transition to a rain/snow mix during the late afternoon.
