The first sun bear cub ever to be born in the UK took a stroll out of her den with her mum for the first time this week.
The little female cub who has not yet been named was born 12 weeks ago in Chester to mum Mili and dad Toni, both rescued from poachers in Cambodia when they were also cubs.
Native to South East Asia, sun bears are the world’s smallest bears and are listed as vulnerable to extinction in the wild by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature.
The Malay name for the tree-loving sun bear means “he who likes to sit high.”
